For a passing moment the glacial winds refresh the dull, a moment of silence before the coming unrest of before, and then in a fleeting moment, it is gone.

Wasn't sure whether to submit this one or not, i don't mind it too much, but its on the edge of scrap worthy, but oh well i decided perhaps someone will enjoy it as a wallpaper, so why not submit it just in case.

I was looking at that old chetsnut "Apollyon" just now, and then turned to this.

Isn't it strange how the work you slave over the most is criticised, yet the stuff you'd fling overboard in an instant gets all the praise.

This is a beautiful piece o' work mister P.

A little strange, yes. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that having made the picture, you appreciate the value of the process - whereas the audience has not had to see the process, but the result. The effort involved in the process may cause you to undervalue or overvalue the image in circumstances I suppose. Or at least, the values seen in the image's quality oppose or empathise with you or the audience - either may be momentary. That might explain it a bit.
